About the Author

My father always wanted me and my sister to become nurses. It wasn’t until I became an adult after graduating from Nursing School, I learned this from my older siblings. I also learned that he too was a nurse but at the time he made more money painting. He had to support us so nursing went down the drain. My mother passed away in 1994 in the beginning of my summer break from nursing school. I was so grateful that she did not pass away while I was in school. I still needed to complete Microbiology that summer before my last year in nursing school. I was due to graduate from Nursing school in 1995. I had decided after her death to quit school. I was so grief stricken I no longer wanted to continue going to school. I received a call from one of my nursing instructors (I did not even know she knew my name or who I was.) I was a very quiet student.

Anyway, she called to give me her condolences, she mentioned that she had heard that I had lost my mother. It must have been a little birdie who told her that.  Needless to say I told her that I was going to sit out a year or so, that I was not in any shape to continue at that time. She was not hearing that. She told me that my mother would want me to continue and not to quit. She told me to go and speak to the microbiology instructor and let her know what was going on but to let me back in the class. Thank God for her pushing me. I would probably not be writing this book right now if it had not been for her Divine Intervention.

“My name is Raye Ann Saunoris. God Blessed me with Gail when my 18-month old son Zach passed away. She helped to prepare me and my husband for the death of my child. A child’s death is a difficult one. I loved my Zach so much words couldn’t explain. Gail was the nurse by me and my husband’s side when Zach took his last breath. Who would have thought death could be such a beautiful experience. Gail made sure Zach was comfortable and we were too. She provided compassionate care for me and my husband.”
