We go through our lives making all types of plans. Plans such as what career path will I take? Do I want a spouse and children? Will I live in a rural community or in the inner city? In life we have choices as to what we desire. One thing we don't have a choice of, is death. None of us can avoid the inevitable of leaving our friends and family forever. The best we can do is to be sure to leave our legacy and instructions on how to handle their business after death. Death sometime causes family division. Family member fight over what's left or argue over what each thinks their loved one would have wanted their funeral arrangement to be. Unfortunately, with no Living Will no one knows how to disburse the deceased belongings or plan the funeral. There are ways in which we can simply get a free form online and fill in our desires and instructions for our family, sign it and have it notarized. Or you can hire an attorney to prepare it for you. Before the computer age, in my community, our parents would write down on paper their desires upon death and put in a metal box along with the life insurance papers. Death was not a inviting conversation. Have you had conversation with your family about what should happen when you are gone? Have you made preparations for the end of life?
